INSCRIPTION IN RUI FOR FINANCIAL INTERMEDIARIES EX ART.106 TUB
With a recent communication of June 5, 2009, ISVAP finally provided clarifications regarding for the status of financial intermediaries registered within the general role according to Art.106 of the Italian Banking Law ("TUB"). In fact, ISVAP confirmed that financial intermediaries may be registered contemporarily also within Section A (Agents) of the Register of Italian Insurance Intermediaries ("RUI") if their activity as insurance agent concerns insurance products aimed at covering the financial services provided by the intermediary himself or a company of the group to which the intermediary belongs to.
ISVAP pointed out further that, within the same limits, the financial intermediary may be registered also within Section E of RUI, while registration within other sections is not permitted.
