PGI has represented major foreign banks in the establishment or sale of their local Italian branches or subsidiaries. The services performed included the management of the relationships with Italian regulators (Bank of Italy, Consob, Ufficio Italiano Cambi).
Recent examples of work include:
- Establishment of Italian branch of the largest state owned Moroccan Bank. The work included advising on the procedure for the establishment of the branch and the management of the relationship with the bank of Italy
- Establishment and then closing of a subsidiary of a private Austrian bank. PGI advised the Austrian bank since its inception in Italy thorughout its closing down after almost 10 years of business in Italy. The work included defending the bank from proceedings started by Bank of Italy and Consob.
