COVID-19 Emergency: Reinstatement of normal deadlines for handling complaints and requests for information

With a communication published on IVASS’s website on June 30, 2020 the Authority informed companies and intermediaries about the reinstatement of the normal deadlines for handling complaints and requests for information, that companies will receive from July 1, 2020.

As a consequence of the above, following the notices published on IVASS website on March 23 and April 3, 2020 – providing for an extension of the deadlines established by Regulations no. 24/2008 and no. 41/2018, – as of July 1, 2020 the ordinary terms of 45 days for responding to complaints and 20 days for requests for information will be reinstated.

In addition, since the AGCOM (the Italian Authority for Competition) has recently stated the end of the critical condition of the postal service, for which companies were asked to give priority to the use of mail and telematics means of communication for sending communications to customers, IVASS invited companies to guarantee the quality of services by offering to the customers the choice between the communications methods more suited to their interests.
